So 2008 is almost over and today i just thought. Its been over 8 mos since I last painted. The death of my dad in March this year most of taken me over my creativity. The last painting I did was after my dads death in March titled RAL, of a yellow rose in WeeDot style, of course. That the last time I picked up a paint brush. Am I finished? Was my Dad my driven force to paint? I tried to paint over a month ago.I just stared at the canvas like a deer in the headlights. What a mess I am. I have been working very long hours doing graphic design work for the past 4 mos, I guess that seems to be my only creative outlet right now, but for those that do graphic design work commercially, its not all you it's what the client wants so creatively speaking it not the best outlet really. Silly clients. So I sit here in front of my computer, clicking away all day while clients email me, "make it blue, make it red" and so on, feeling is this all that is to me anymore? Has my art turned into this? Has my fine art passion left me? Have I turned into a designer work horse?
